Tails of Heroism contest

Penn Tactical Solutions proudly presents Tails of Heroism, a celebration of the amazing K9s who protect, comfort, and inspire us.


From working dogs on duty to rescues and family pets who simply make us smile, every K9 has a story worth telling.

Whether your photo is heroic, heartwarming, or hilarious, this is your chance to share it with the world and help us give back to the K9 community.

How to Enter

1. Submit Your Photo & Story
Use the form below to upload your favorite photo of your K9 and include a short story (a few sentences or a paragraph) about what makes them special.
Your story can be about a rescue, an act of heroism, a memorial or simply how your dog brings joy to your life.

2. Nominate a Hero
When submitting, you can also nominate your favorite K9 department, animal shelter, or rescue to receive lifesaving K9 medical gear from Penn Tactical Solutions.

NOTE: Agencies, K9 teams, and rescues are welcome to submit directly! Agencies may post photos of their own K9s or units and name themselves as the donation recipient if they win. Agencies can submit multiple K9s. 

 

3. Vote for Your Favorites
All entries will appear in our Tails of Heroism Gallery right here on our website.
Voting buttons will be added on October 27, and visitors can vote by liking their favorite photo and story.
The entries with the most likes by November 30 will win!

Prizes

Three winners will receive their choice of K9 medical gear and one nominated organization will receive a donated kit in the name of the winner.

Tails of Heroism Contest – Official Rules & Terms

Eligibility

  • Open to residents of the United States only.

  • Entrants must be 18 years or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

  • No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.

  • Submissions may be made by individuals, organizations, or agencies.

  • Donation recipients must be a recognized U.S. public safety agency (law enforcement, fire, EMS, or search and rescue) or a registered 501(c) nonprofit animal rescue, shelter, or K9 program.

Entry Guidelines

  • Each entry must include an original, unaltered photo and a short story about the featured K9.

  • Photos may be heroic, heartwarming, or humorous, but must remain family-friendly and free of copyrighted material, logos, or offensive content.

  • AI-generated, heavily edited, or computer-altered images will be disqualified.

  • By submitting, entrants affirm that they own or have rights to the photo and story and grant Penn Tactical Solutions permission to display, reproduce, and share their submission online and in promotional materials, with credit to the entrant.

  • Entries are subject to moderation and may be declined if they violate these content standards.

  • Agencies may submit entries on behalf of their own K9s and may name themselves as the donation recipient if selected as a winner.

Voting & Selection

  • Approved entries will appear in the Tails of Heroism Gallery on the Penn Tactical Solutions website.

  • Voting opens October 27, 2025, and closes November 30, 2025.

  • Visitors may vote by “liking” entries in the gallery.

  • Final winners will be determined based on the highest number of verified likes.

  • Penn Tactical Solutions reserves the right to disqualify fraudulent, automated, or manipulated voting activity and to make all final determinations regarding winners.

Prizes

  • Three prize winners will be selected.

    • 1st Place – First choice of prize and a donated K9 First Aid Kit from R.A.N.T. Strategies + Pet Oâ‚‚ Mask Kit made in the name of the winner to their nominated organization.

    • 2nd Place – Second choice of remaining prizes.

    • 3rd Place – Third choice of remaining prizes.

  • Prize Options:

    • K9 Rescue Oxygen Kit

    • North American Rescue K9 Handler First Aid Kit

    • TacMed Solutions K9 Tourniquet

  • Shipping is included within the continental United States.

  • Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.

  • Penn Tactical Solutions reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

Donation Awards

  • The 1st-place winner’s nominated organization (or the winning agency itself) will receive a K9 First Aid Kit and Pet Oâ‚‚ Mask Kit donation, fulfilled directly by Penn Tactical Solutions.

  • Donations will be made in the name of the winner and shipped to the verified recipient within the United States.

Privacy & Data Use

  • Penn Tactical Solutions will not sell, share, or distribute any personal information collected through this contest.

  • Contact information will be used solely to communicate with entrants and notify winners.

  • All data will be securely stored and deleted following the conclusion of the contest.

General Conditions

  • By entering, participants agree to abide by these terms and by the decisions of Penn Tactical Solutions, which are final and binding.

  • Penn Tactical Solutions and its affiliates are not responsible for technical issues, lost entries, or delays in submission or shipping.

  • Winners will be notified via email and announced publicly on December 2, 2025.

  • This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Facebook, Instagram, or any other social platform.
