Course Overview
Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) for First Responders is an evidence-based trauma education program developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. The course emphasizes rapid assessment, structured decision-making, and prioritization of life-threatening injuries in the prehospital environment.
Designed for EMTs and certified first responders, PHTLS strengthens foundational trauma management skills through scenario-based learning, case discussion, and application of standardized assessment principles. The course reinforces a systematic approach to trauma care that supports improved patient outcomes and coordinated team response.
Participants will develop greater confidence in managing traumatic injuries, identifying immediate threats to life, and integrating care within established medical and operational protocols.
