About the event
This comprehensive 16-hour course prepares participants to recognize and manage life-threatening injuries in high-risk, rapidly evolving environments. TECC is based on the latest guidelines from the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and focuses on practical, hands-on skills that can be applied by EMS providers, law enforcement, security personnel, and trained civilians.
Students will learn:• Massive hemorrhage control with tourniquets, wound packing, and pressure dressings• Airway management techniques suitable for austere or chaotic scenes• Recognition and treatment of respiratory compromise, including chest trauma• Management of shock, hypothermia prevention, and patient packaging• Operational considerations such as cover and concealment, movement under fire, and threat-based decision making• Casualty evacuation strategies and team-based problem solving
Through scenario-driven training, students practice making rapid, informed decisions under stress, enhancing confidence and readiness for real-world emergencies.
Participants who successfully complete the course receive 16 hours of Pennsylvania Department of Health continuing education and CAPCE-accredited continuing education credit.…
