At Penn Tactical Solutions, we are proud to spotlight Mochtech LLC, a veteran founded, family run company whose story exemplifies ingenuity and dedication to those on the front lines.
Mochtech’s journey began with Robb Mourton, a US Army Medic and Trainer who served nearly three decades. In the early 2000s, while preparing Soldiers for deployment, Robb confronted a critical gap as there simply were not adequate tools to train life saving interventions like IV starts and needle decompression. Determined to better prepare his Soldiers, Robb improvised and hand built the first IV task trainers. Those early innovations laid the foundation for what would become the Multi Insertion Training System, or MITS.
The legacy continued when Robb’s son Wesley, inspired by his father’s dedication, studied entrepreneurship and joined the mission. Together they transformed those early improvised trainers into a refined and versatile platform. Today the MITS is recognized as a compact, portable, and highly realistic training solution that supports more than twenty critical skills from IV access to needle decompression, emergency cricothyrotomy, and more.
Mochtech remains dedicated to the same purpose that sparked its founding, to prepare those who save lives with realistic, durable, and accessible training tools. Their story reflects the best of battlefield born innovation brought to both classrooms and austere environments.

At Penn Tactical Solutions, we value partnerships with companies like Mochtech that share our commitment to delivering proven innovative solutions. By spotlighting their story, we aim to make advanced training tools like the MITS more accessible to instructors, agencies, and responders everywhere, ensuring that lifesaving skills can be taught anytime and anywhere.
